    If anyone is still here...

ro you have got to collect coins YOU like. I have spent hard earned money on coins NO ONE on the forum collects. (Check out the Exonumia thread for an example)

Common coins will get more attention because they're common! More people have them. Same goes for popular coins. The more obscure a coin is does not make it more valuable or important to everyone.

I'm surprised people are still giving him likes and attention after he's whined and complained many times for them.
What's the point if you'll be crying about this same thing next week?

Ro, I see things heading badly. My job here is to see that problems are limited, and your obsession with the "like" system seems to make your problem greater, so Ignore the "Likes". People should be measured more for knowledge and helping others than how many likes they get. I sure do not get many but I could care less, I know what I know and don't know, so even for the best coin any one has, I could not tell you how many likes I have. So enjoy the coins and members. It is not a competition of life. Jim

Jim

I have no idea of the background to all of this, but can offer a little feedback.

Ro, if you are worried about "likes", don't. They do not mean anything. I have posted some great rarities and do not get much attention, but post a pretty coin and get 5 times the likes. Most collectors, even ancient ones, are not going to recognize real rarity is many small, specialized fields. No biggie.

Too bad this thread went this way. I find it a good subject actually, especially for newer collectors. One needs to be aware of coins that might be "prized" but in reality very common ancients. Those coins you can afford to be picky on. Other coins, though, truly rare ones, you need to buy when you find them as you might not get another chance for a decade or two, if at all.

Like I said, I thought it was a valid subject, but have no idea what happened here....

    Too bad.

Well... It seems likes are the most important thing to you yet....

I never see you post in other people threads or like their posts yet you expect other people to do so for you and you get upset when they don't ....
