Wow! I thought if you put in an appearance, @panzerman, I wouldn't be disappointed. Since the historical gold:silver ratio was often around 16:1, 4 seems to be a relatively common denomination for gold. I think the only US coin ever denominated 4 was the gold "stella" $4 gold pattern.

Anyway, here are the last of my 4's which I have photos of.

Thanks! I have been working 95+ hrs a week/ not much time for hobbies. The Stella was a beautifull design/ too bad that it was not adopted as a permanent denomination to compliment the AV 1/ 2 1/2/ 3/5/10/20 Dollars. They also looked at a Half Union ($50) and a 5 oz. Union ($100)
There was much more common sense back then, today we have stupid plastic and BITCOIN

Got one of these big Uruguay coppers I had beed admiring on this thread (and others). It has a few dings, but it's a nice hunk of metal.
