Which coins do you keep that are outside of your main collection theme ? I sold more than 150 crowns to fund my new collection theme of multiple denomination silver coins but couldnt let myself to sell these 4 coins. Show me your coins you still keep that are out of your main collection area. 1792 ECU De 6 Livres 1821 Sweeden Rigsdaler 1561 Spanish Netherlands Daalder 1792 Bern Taler
I have a few. 8 Maravedis English coins Old worn Dollars. I would have bought all of them again if put infront of me.
My collection isn't very focused. There are a few areas that I am consistently looking to add to but I feel like I collect everything non-US. That said, these few pieces were impulse purchases that don't really make sense. Like the OP said, I would purchase them again in a heartbeat. 1579 Spanish Netherlands Jeton 1775 Netherlands Silver Rider, just a beautiful coin 1792 Brazil 6400 Reis
That's easy 1 is a random object 2 are related objects 3 or more are a small collection Never dis your small collections, just promote objects to collections by.... wait for it... buying one or two more like them!
I don't really have a main collection theme, but the coins outside of my main collection are mostly those that were in use in various European countries (Croatia, Italy, Germany, Austria, etc.) before the introduction of the euro, plus some Croatian commemorative coins, such as this one from 1997 commemorating Croatia joining the United Nations in 1992:
Here are two coins I just purchased that are outside my normal collecting efforts. I just found them fascinating and plan to learn more about their history. Both are rupees from India. India 1873 Kashmir India 1904 Bundi
My main collecting theme is anything related to the Protestant Reformation, but I absolutely love city-view thalers. It is an expensive side quest, so it has been awhile since I've added any to the accumulation.
