I Got an E-mail from the mint news awhile back. Showing the U.S. won a couple of awards at the Berlin World Coins Competition, The Worlds Money Fair. Pretty interesting coins. I have the March of Dimes set, thought it was a winner. Anyone get any of the other winning coins? http://www.numismaticnews.net/article/coin-years-10-winners I see Italy won the coin of the year. It is a beauty I think.
Actually it is Krause's competition. They picked the winners in 2016 (hence the 2015 date requirement) and, like every year, used the World Money Fair for the award ceremony. Problem with most of these pieces, in my opinion, is that hardly any are circulation coins. In fact, they even have an extra category for them - all others are surcharged collector coins. Quite a few nice designs though ... Christian
