I was watching "Friday Night Lights" and not sure if I just didn't notice the first time or what, but there is a coin toss in which one of the coaches says he is using a 1922 silver dollar. At the toss, the onlookers call "heads" but then hesitate and say the coin is so worn, they can't be sure and finally decide it is "tails".

@willieboyd2 has compiled some fun lists of coins in movies.

I was just reliving some 1980s high school reminiscensces and noticed a 1981 UK Charles & Diana Royal Wedding crown in Peter Gabriel's bizarre but catchy "Shock the Monkey" video.

The coin is seen being flipped a couple of times but the closeup happens at around 3:15 in the video.

Who's got more music videos with coins in them? :headphone::singing:

Titanic had a barber dime that Kate Winslet gave Leonardo DiCaprio for a portrait. How she had a dime made no sense since she was British.

Gangs of New York had seated liberty coins on the table where Bill the Butcher and his friends were playing poker.

I had a lot of fun with the film "The Great Sinner" trying to figure out which 19th century German crown coins were used in the film.

Apparently the filmmakers used both Prussian Vereinsthalers and later 5 Mark coins.

And here is "Gold Diggers of 1933", the top "Coins in Movies" film:
