I just love the way some threads get everyone excited and coins start to appear from peoples collections for us to marvel at....its all very fluid and whilst it goes off on a tangent the thread evolves....very interesting chaps.! lovely coins.
THANKS BUNNY, I HAVE A FOND SPOT FOR AVIATION THEME COINS. I should get a better holder for this coin.
Hold on to those from Ukraine. If Ukraine ever joins the EU, they will switch to the Euro and no more currency of their own.
Probably not the right forum to discuss politics, but I believe the Ukraine will move forward with the European trade deal, eventually leading to their joining the EU in less than 10 years. Doubt it will take 20 years. Just my opinion.
Interesting! I never thought about it. I just like the 'Archangel Michael' series so I started buying them and sending them to A.N.A.C.S. for authentication and grading. They grade very well -- A.N.A.C.S. MS69 and MS70. I do hope it'll be a peaceful transition -- Ukraine joining the E.U. -- and works well for everybody concerned. I'm all for peace in this world.
Moscow 1980 Olympic Games Proof Set https://moneditis.com/2016/10/30/набор-олимпиада-80-28-монет-серебро/
1 and 10 roubles with new shield are rather common (especially 1 rouble). But I didn't see 2 & 5 roubles until now.
Well, new shield 2 and 5 rubles rolls are now being distributed normally (Sankt Peterburg) but still difficult to find in change
The worst coin to complete this set and find in nice condition is polushka or 1/4 Kopek: Polushka Other coins are not so difficult: Denga or Denezhka Kopek 2 Kopek 5 Kopek 10 Kopek These coins are a bit smaller than their normal Russian counterparts as the metallurgy at the Kolyvan mint couldn't then remove trace elements of gold and silver in the coinage until they received more modern equipment for smelting and isolating elements beginning in 1781 - when regular Russian coinage began to be struck there.
