OK, everyone make me feel bad by showing the coins you bought from Frank. I bid on 5 lots and only got one (probably the lowest price one he sold). Marcus Arelius CONSECRATIO, Eagle on globe on reverse. 9.82 g 26 mm My daughter asked me if it were a jade coin...I'll try and catch the color:
I bid on several. I bid my limit and refused to raise my bids when Frank let me know I'd been outbid. That's life!
Didn't bid this time; have been quite busy and on the other hand, I am looking and waiting for some particular coins (particular for me...) to be available in an auction
I was the underbidder on the unpublished Bohemian Denar. When he sent the e-mail warning about people getting outbid at the last minute and not receiving an e-mail, I considered raising my bid but didn’t. Should have listened to that warning!
I sat this one out. I spent more than I wanted to in the last Leu auction so I kept myself on the sidelines.
As usual a mix of interesting pieces that saw some healthy competition, but a few bargains still. I bat like 2/10, good enough to play for the Yankees it would seem.
Same here…I did some early prep, but had out of town guests distractions and forgot the auction. There were several interesting coins.
I saw "Frank Robinson," and here I'm thinking possible coins from a collection by the late, great Cincinnati Reds star and HOF outfielder. Oh, my.
I was successful on 2 out of 9 bids. Here's the first: Himera, AE17. The chip missing from the reverse gave me some pause but this is really well struck and that won me over.
