Still, though, your point is valid. I just don&#039;t see anyone mass-producing gold from lead in the near future. And as the previous poster pointed out, gold has been a medium of financial transactions for thousands of years. Next time I go to a coin show, I&#039;m gonna buy as many silver Roosies as I can afford. The melt value is just over 97 cents, so I should be able to pick some up for under $1.10?
