What I can’t understand about where the hobby seems to be going is the new idea of “population “ for a coin. Why is a pr 70 Congratulations set sae a separate population from the “regular “ pr70s? Naturally the price is inflated. Is this the new way to collect?

Not to me. It is a marketing gimmick to get non knowledgeable people to buy the offering. A 2019 Proof Silver Eagle, no matter what set it came from is a 2019 Silver Eagle.

Oh please........there was nothing to admire about the man after he sold me a set of ASE's that I could have picked up for half of what I was charged. I don't blame him (Chambers [God rest him]) because it was my fault that I didn't do my homework. I was getting back into the hobby at that time and I trusted the 'show' & Chambers. That trust went right out the window when I found out what I could have paid.

The show should come with the disclaimer 'for entertainment purposes only'.

And for anyone that pays $900 for an ASE ('70, 'set', no set) dated 2016? See an reputable analyst. You need your head examined.........
