I do not see value in Instagram, Facebook, or most of the other social media sites. I've asked in the past, but if someone can explain to me what I can get out of these venues, I certainly will try it.
just a bigger pool of potential knowledge, Bing. we have a closed group on our podcast facebook page and it's like a second forum for people to comment in.
I've tried Facebook and it's kinda okay, but I don't understand it's purpose. My eldest son uses his Facebook like a blog and I suppose that's fine for him. But for my wife and I, we are stuck in time using emails and the web which suits us fine. A second forum is a good thing, but I belong to several forums on the web. Instagram and other social media just makes no sense to me. I suppose it's a generational thing.
P.S. My sister loves to text while I hate it. It provides an excuse not to have to interact with someone. Man, I AM and old fogey!
On our coinshow FaceBook page we would post coin related news stories every day. It was a great place to keep up on (at least some of) the latest news in the numismatic world. We don't post as much anymore. It was a lot of work and although we have a lot of page likes, it didn't generate much actual response or discussion.
I'm part of the "shoulder" crowd. Neither young nor too old. Some of the people here act older than the coins we're talking about! I think the pictures rock on Leu's feed but I don't twit. I can appreciate it though.
