New York, strangely enough, has largely outgrown the Deli business. The plethora of deli's of years gone by are largely gone. There are Mindy's and the 2nd avenue deli now reopened in midtown, but I'm not sure of the quality. The neighborhood places are largely gone and the quality is not what it once was. There is a place called Jay's in Brooklyn that might be the best. The city has gone Sushi, Thai and vegetarian. But we also have the best steak houses in the nation, bar nobody. Then there is China Town which is always fun. There are also the very subpar tourist traps like the Carnegie Deli on 7th Avenue. They'll pile the meat up for you but I'll pass .

Have you been to town before? Because NYC is a different experience than any place in the world. Most people don't comprehend the scale until they experience it. When ever I leave town for any length of time, it is the food that I miss. Not just any particular food, but all of it. When I lived in Texas I felt like I couldn't get a decent steak and forget fish.

Ruben
Have you been to town before? Because NYC is a different experience than any place in the world. Most people don't comprehend the scale until they experience it. When ever I leave town for any length of time, it is the food that I miss. Not just any particular food, but all of it.
