Great set of coins! Especially for starting an Ancients collection. Congrats.

By the time of your Republic Denarius, although Rome had a Republic government, they were definitely a large Mediterranean EMPIRE. I call any Roman coin of Augustus and after, Roman Imperial. Cuz, the big change in gov’ment was that Augustus and later guys were just Tyrants that told everybody what to do.

BTW, that Scarus is great. Well done!

I really suggest letting your specialties find you rather than you setting them based on what you know now. When you have a few dozen coins and discover that most of them have something in common, that may be your specialty. If the only thing they have in common is that you like them, perhaps that is special enough. I also suggest not being too quick to sell off things that do not fit your specialty. I later missed coins that fit what later became a second or third area of interest.
