Does anyone here know where I might find the full text of the Coinage Act of 1864? Or if it's not online, if tere are any books or other sources I should look for? Thanks.

"The Coinage Act of April 22, 1864, which affected changes in the cent, provided also for the new bronze two-cent piece. The act, moreover, provided legal tender status for these two coins up to ten times their face value." This passage is from the Red Book

Thanks, but I was actually hoping to find the original text of the Act itself.

You might also be able to find it at the Library of Congress or the National Archives, although I don't know about online.

A side note that will not likely appear within the Act wording, is that the cent's size, weight, and metal composition was revised to mimic that of many Civil War tokens, while outlawing those tokens at the same time.
