superb coins and medals. Siberian Man is resourceful. I am very impressed by his map coins collection. I feel more pleasure watching all your beautiful coins and medals than sharing mine I will wait some hours and if the thread freezes at Brazil, I will share one more map coin. a re-boost

I had one of these dated 1753, picked it up cheap in Brazil, sold it some years back just before I jumped ship.
A beat up medal with the 4 horsemen over the world. It's a darker one so hard to see, but meets criteria I think:
Well, the image of the "map side" is upside down. Back then, French coins had this inverted ↑↓ alignment. Also, since France has, more or less, a hexagonal shape, you will sometimes find a hexagon on their coins - which is basically a map too. Every single euro coin, by the way, has a map on the common side. The low denominations show "Europe in the world" (see post #9 here). With the mid-range pieces (10 to 50 cent) it depends - the first series showed the EU countries in a jigsaw puzzle style, the newer ones just have a map of Europe. Roughly the same with the €1 and €2 pieces. The "mappiest" euro coins are those from Estonia. They have the usual map on the common reverse, and a country map on the obverse. Christian
