Saw these guys at a show. Didn't buy them at the time but later got both of them 1. Stater of Metapontion c 290 B.C. 2. Tetradrachm of Alexander III Tarsos mint c 327 B.C.
I'll have to attend a show one of these days, seems like some good deals can be had. I'm about 40 miles from Santa Clara and ten from San Francisco, so I'll keep my eyes open for one in the future.
Nice Ken! I see you found the infamous "Rorschach Janus"!....you know, the one where you look at it the first time & see a butterfly, then look at it again & see 2 faces!! Excellent!
Pretty sure this As is a G1 (37.4g): Here's McCabe's page on them: https://andrewmccabe.ancients.info/RRC056.html
That is a great catch Ken Dorney, lovely coins. I escpecially admire the commodus sestertius. I have only been to one coin show, which was quite a disapointment for me. Few stands, fewer crowd, and even less ancients. I'll be going to a second coin show in May, in holland. I hope it turns out to be better then the last one.
