The show is on the second and fourth Sunday every month. Let us know a date thats convenient for you. I will ensure there will be a special welcoming party for you and the horse.
Anybody have anything new to report on this incident? I see now (on the show website) that you have to enter the show through the main entrance. Used to be that you could enter through a variety of side doors.
I usually go to the bathroom. First. Pack up. Usually I have security watch my bag with my coins while I take my cases out then get my bag of my coins get in my truck and hit the road. I also make sure I have at least half a tank of diesel so I’m not stopping anywhere close to the show. Normally I head straight home. If I stop anywhere it’s somewhere safe and quite a ways away. Plus I carry. Plus my truck has dark tinted windows it’s distinctive enough on its own. Bright red quad cab diesel. With a few modifications. But you can’t see in the back seat. I also put my coins on the floorboards and pile my cases on top. You really can’t be too careful. I’m not carrying 500k. But I usually have 50-100k. And that would be a devastating loss
I hope the thieves are caught and punished and the dealer gets his merchandise back. I’ve always thought there should be a strong eyebolt on each case to allow chaining to the table. There should also be a layer of polycarbonate under the glass of the cases. This would pretty much stop quick-grab, smash-and-grab, and case swapping. Still leaves opportunities for thievery when the dealer has the case open. Alertness by the dealer and video cams can help prevent this. Cal
I agree, I would have never left without my merchandise. The show must have been just starting or ending due to lack of people present. It just doesn't appear worthy to have that much inventory present. I like the idea of mask-down photos on a security camera.
If I would have $500,000 worth of inventory at a coin show I would wear a diaper. I guess that is one of the many reasons why I am not a coin dealer, but I hope they do catch them and prosecute.
