Over 50 Silver dimes for under $1 each....a Nickel Planchet (These are harder to find then most people think so I was more than happy to pay a higher price), an off center Jefferson Nickel (1999-D), and a 1875-CC Half Dollar in G, and last but not least an 1988 ASE! I also paid a guy for a coin I had picked up earlier this week....a GEM 1941-S Washington Quarter graded by NGC!</p><p><br /></p><p>My views on the market now after this small show are these:</p><p>1: Mintsets and Proof Sets are not moving....unless you can get the harder to find dates (such as the 1999 Silver) or early years (1955, etc)...forget it.</p><p>2: Gold isn&#039;t going much either-- (Too $$$)</p><p>3: People around here don&#039;t keep up on paper money</p><p>4: Key dates are still pretty hot...but most people don&#039;t want to pay the price! </p><p>5: Anything silver will sell pretty much--I took some junk silver and priced it right at spot (or alittle under and it sold it fast), but then I took a Peace Dollar and priced it at $9 and didn&#039;t even have a look :hammer: </p><p>6: error coins are HOT....everyone was looking for such...and the Washington no edge dollars go pretty nice</p><p><br /></p><p>All in all I would go to this show even if I didn&#039;t sell one dime---its worth it to see the coins from the different guys and talk and learn alittle from each one. Again this year I saw a complete set of dimes from 1916-1945! The guy was asking $1k total but the 21D had been cleaned, and the 1916-D was a NET gradee became of rim damage. Otherwise it was a nice VG coin!! Also this year I saw fakes......and people who think their coin is worth $1,000,000.00 +!</p><p><br /></p><p>I was able to get alittle work done on the varietynickels.com website and have some photos up to where they can be viewed now on the date guide. Right now I think only 3-5 maybe are open for viewing but there are many, many more to come!!!</p><p><br /></p><p>Wish I could have met some of y&#039;all from CT! A dealer friend and I were talking how we need to get a coin show started alittle closer to Lexington KY. That being a big town and such and not too far away to drive might be a good choice for a show sometime.</p><p><br /></p><p>Have a great night!
