Just ask her if she minds if you go for a while and don't stay any longer than you are supposed to. Invite her to go along of course. If she has a big problem with it, you will too.
If you knew anything about college women, you'd know the sorority chicks are the ones you stay far, far away from.
Brings to mind, 'If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all.......
Go to the Vegas show. Give her $500 for her fun and you get $500 for the coin show. Of course, you will probably also need another $500 for your fun at the poker table too.
Yup and that goes for any collection as there are way too many important things that come before hobbies for sure! :thumb:
It really is cheaper to take her, any man who has been married awhile has learned that - hopefully not the hard way.
Really? If you leave her home she gets into things - like my bank statements with cheques clearing for auction houses for all the coin goodies I buy.
thanks d.t.menace. NE Ohio eh? that got me thinking. a trip to cedar point and hopefully a show not to far from there. if i recall it would be the halfway point between toledo and cleveland. thnaks for getting the wheels grinding!
As I stated earlier my wife is in now way a shopper. when it comes to spending wrecklessly that would be my department. this being said it would be wisest for her to attend with me for sure. she is interested in coins just not a fanatic like someone else in our house. -walter
OP, I would suggest maybe CICF in Chicago. They have antiquities and ancient jewelry that your wife may at least find interesting if not wishing to buy. My first wife hated coin shows, but thought looking through this stuff at CICF was like going to a museum, so not nearly as bad as a traditional coin show. If you were going to make a trip of something, I would suggest the ANA summer seminars. They actually have a "wife group" where the wives go out and do something fun while the boring husbands study coins.
