I'm looking forward to attending in 2010. I miss living in Louisville. If you need some muscle to "convince" somebody up at HQ, let me know. I have in-laws in Colorado Springs. :)

I think the last time the ANA convention was in Detroit was 1984. Got a token from it. I may have missed some since then however, Kinda of got sidetracked with other things for a few decades.

Thanks but I've already sent the note---I haven't gotten any letter back but I guess that is too much to think of ;)

Well I know it isn't an ANA show but I heard that there is going to be a small show about 2-3 hours south of Louisville KY---I talked to my dealer and he said that there were 6 tables sold so far--its this SAT.
If anyone is going maybe you will see me....I hope to be there!

Hey Speedy. Did you ever consider moving to Chicago. There are coin shows all over the place. There are coin dealers everywhere. We have 3 coin shows continuous each month on consecutive Sundays. Then there are those big ones at the Rosemont Convention Center occationally like the one they just had. Then there are flea markets with coin dealers all over the place. Keep your home in Kentucky but get another one here. It's too hot in Kentucky anyway.
Here in the windy City we have perfect weather year round. Museums, Zoos, Shows, Theaters, Parks, Amusement Parks, Great schools, shopping malls almost every mile and just about anything else you can think of. I guess the only thing we don't have is the Kentucky Derby.

    Hey Carl
Years before I was born my mom and dad lived there in Chicago--I've been there and hope I never have to move there....not the type of place a county boy wants to live.
And besides---there are things I want to do later in life that I couldn't do in Chicago :)

Remember Fort Knox is in Kentucky. That is where we as US Citizens have our Gold. Kentucky is Cool and historical.

Baadddd Saturday for me - my nephews are in HS soccer tournament. Otherwise I would have showed up for a little bit just to see what they offered. The last local one I attended did not have anything that I really wanted.

:D:D ....I doubt it.....I have heard and talked to alot of people and what I've found is that more than likely there isn't any gold near Fort Knox....one person I talked to was in the US Army...I'm sure he couldn't tell even if he wanted but the last I heard there was more such things as...
    Rare Papers
Drugs and such incase of a widespred flu or such sickness....
Gold may be there...but I doubt it.

I don't know what time I'll be there---my dad is going to take me and we both have a meeting the night before and we won't get in till after mid-night so I don't know if I'll be there when it opens or not.

There is some gold at Ft. Knox, and lots of other interesting historical tidbits. When they fell into our hands in WWII, we kept the Czech (I think, it might have been Hungarian) crown jewels there after until after the fall of Communism. Most of the US gold is elsewhere though. NY Federal Reserve last I heard, but that may have changed in the last few years.
