As the 1477 date indicates, this design is a nod to the 15th century, and seems reminiscent of the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guldengroschen" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guldengroschen" rel="nofollow">guldengroschen/guldiner</a> coins of that period. I always wanted one of those but will never be able to afford one, so I settled for a somewhat later <a href="https://www.cointalk.com/threads/german-states-teutonic-order-silver-1-4-thaler-of-grand-master-maximilian-of-austria-ca-1615.286622/" class="internalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://www.cointalk.com/threads/german-states-teutonic-order-silver-1-4-thaler-of-grand-master-maximilian-of-austria-ca-1615.286622/">Teutonic Order</a> coin with a similar motif.</p><p><br /></p><p>I suppose it commemorates the 500th anniversary of the city of Hall in the Tyrol?
