My plastic calipers appear to be pretty accurate, good enough for me, and no batteries to go flat when I want to measure something. My scales are also pretty accurate. I had one coin which I saw weighed on a bullion scale. If I have any doubts that my scales need to be re-calibrated, I just weigh that coin and check the reading.
I wouldn't . I worked with precision tool most of my life and I misread it . It happens once in awhile to the best of us . But I'm feeling a little dumb too .
