I'm using the insurer mentioned by the ANA. I compared the requirements and price of my homeowner's insurance with Hugh Wood. It wasn't even close. My homeowner's insurance wanted 3x the money and a LOT more documentation. All Hugh Wood wants is that you (not them) have an inventory. The insurance fee is depends upon a several things: -- where's the collection located (bank safe deposit box lowers the fee) -- 2 hour safe lowers the fee -- home construction and home security (if your collection is at home) -- outside the home (transporting, shows, etc.) Then look at the actual coverage you get, i.e., what do they base their value on. And though not required, I did have an appraisal done. I'll stick with what I did.
My advice would be, if your going to go with a small/medium size safe: get one that can be bolted down securely.
