Fine, but if you do, please do so in the General Discussion section.

You are not here.

Ha ha. "blind" - "Eyesee" Was that supposed to be a pun?

I had an extremely hard time finding the general discussion forum as well. It is here. (You are not here; click on the link, and you will be here. Then here will be there, and there is not the general discussion forum, here is. [I mean where you're there of course—not here!])

Are these items arranged around the coins as a display? That is what I was talking about, so that the other items give the coins context. The fact that the coins were collected by, and kept in, your family adds to their value (maybe not numismatically) but in terms of crossover collectible value. To use the Antiques Roadshow jargon, it give it provenance.

cykopat,
Nice job on the web page so far, and it seems you've already found some nice coins in the mix.

I too like to use the album pages with 3- ring binders for storing 2x2's, and coin tubes for some of the other coins.

As I mentioned if I were you I would find some books on coins prior to doing anything with any of them. Again, try old book stores, flea markets, garage/yard sales for books on coins. Age doesn't matter since you should be interested in information, not prices YET. With many coins people think are not worth anything, they may well be worth more than they appear. Error coins are becoming a biggy and at coin shows they are all selling big. Also, you can search web sites such as www.coppercoins.com for infor on Lincoln Cents. Those plastic pages someone posted for 2x2's will fit in any standard 3 ringed binder. If you check coin shows, coin dealers or coin supply web sites you may find those flips, 2x2's, also come in other sizes such as 1-1/2z1-1/2 inch and larger sizes. Also, organizations sell boxes made to hold hundreds of those. Alsok, there are plastic type rolls for coins that will help preserve them.
As to the foreign coins, I too have a mountain of them and abourt half I have no idea what they are. I always tell every one I know I collect coins from other countries and they almost always pop up with a handfull for me and free. Someday I'll try to find out what they all are but for now it's just US coins.
Be real carefull with all your coins until you find out what they are.
It's odd that one of the coins you showed was a 1920D Lincoln Cent. Over the years I've found that for some reason that coin is more difficult to find in great conditions than the so called key dates. Don't know why but just could not find any for years.
Do not clean any of those coins, do not bend any of the currency, do not handle any of the coins excessively, do not jingle them together. Someone gave those coins to you I presume to have someone with enough care to continue with thier expectations.

No I mean if you owned the coin star, you could manually search the coins when it's full to see who dumped in VDBs, etc..etc..:)

That's the only 1920-D I found.. I thought I has a 1909-S VDB, but it turned out to be a 1909-S. Along with these coin piles I got about 6 old Lincoln Cent Blue Books.. Not everything was filled in.. So it sorta helped tracking through the key dates and the books..

I have actually 2 rolls now of 1929, 1939 and 1919 so I assume these are all over the place. What I don't have many of of 20-28, and 30-38. Trust me when I say I don't know what I have. All the coins I have posted on my blog I believe are in poor condition with the exception of the 1920-D I posted there I would have listed that as Fair in my newness. Please correct me if I listed that coin wrong I just went off year and what I assumed was a "D" mintmark.

I appreciate the advice.
