The awards are 2 years behind the issue date. 1984 award, for example, are for coins issued in 1982. When the awards began there were 6 categories and an overall winner. I might even try to own at least one winner for each year or Best Silver, or some other combination.</p><p><br /></p><p>I was surprised to see how many United States coins were winners. More than a couple of State Quarters won.
