[QUOTE="Conder101, post: 188506, member: 66"]Anyone with knowledge of the history of the original seizure knew. And yes there is at least one more, probably 5 more, still out there. It was fairly well known years ago that Izzy had at least 25 of the coins. (Issy told the SS that he only had 9 and told them who they had been sold to. The SS eventually confiscated all 8 coins and announced that they had accounted for all of "stolen coins". Their 8 and the Farouk coin. A year or so later Eliasberg acquired his coin, and requested that he be allowed to keep it so as to keep his collection complete. The government refused and confiscated the tenth of the nine coins. Any guesses where the Eliasberg coin probably came from? My bet is Izzy sold it.)

So far they have accounted for 20 of them and there is a photograph of a 21st specimen that hasn't been "rounded up yet.

The 1931 Standing Liberty Quarter and the 1933 Washington have been long time myths with no really credible sightings.

While the 1964 Franklin COULD have been struck since the dies probably existed in late November of 1963, I don't believe they were ever struck. The country was in the midst of a coin shortage and they would not want to have had any delays in shipments while they waited for 1964 coins to be struck. I know they do this today but I don't know if they did back then.)

I do not believe the 1895 dollars were ever struck.
