Hello CT. What's the deal with these things?
I purchased a large lot of cois at an auction last month and I got a couple boxes of these. The newer sets came with the lot, so I had no choice but to take them. They range from the 1930's to 2020. I plan on keeping all the older sets and silver proof sets, but are the sets from 1965 and up worth anything other than face value? Any particular years I should look for or keep? Or just donate them to Goodwill? Thanks in advance.

Please whatever you do, don't donate them to goodwill!! I will send you a PM with my address and payment for shipping if you are seriously considering it!!

Yes, there's a lot of silver in some of those 1965 and beyond sets. Some are silver proof quarters! You should keep all the silver! :woot: If you really want to donate, you could hold a contest here and award some of the sets that don't have silver to a young numismatist.

Any 2012 proof sets? In case you're wondering why I'm asking, take a look at sold eBay listings.

Up to 1970 all the Kennedy’s are silver. 1965 thru 1970 are 40 percent silver

You need to go through them. You can sell them all on CT or eBay or you can just take yo your LCS. If you feel you must donate, then donate them to your local coin club or give as gifts to get kids interested in coin collecting.

I think there may be a Proof 2019-W Cent in the 2019 Proof box. It's a one year thing and the cent is in a separate cellophane pack.

Also, just check that 2007 Presidential Dollar set. That was the first year with Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Madison. You might find one with missing edge lettering. You never know! :)

Im gonna donate a dozen or so to CT. To celebrate my 2 week anniversary here. Somebody let me know how and where to send them. I will take care of the postage.
CT can do whatever they want with them. I prefer they give them away.

Yes there is a large envelope of single packed nickels and pennies in separate envelopes that came with some of the sets.

From the few responses you've gotten here you should try to sell
them here on for sale forum.

You have some really nice sets. Many of them may be worth some decent money. All the Halves, Quarters, and Dimes 1964 and prior are Silver and worth more than their silver content. I know you're new to this site but don't be too hasty in making a decision as to what to do with them. Sort them out and make a spread sheet with estimates of grade and value. Whatever you do, don't just give them away for nothing. Best of luck.
