If I have to travel around the world I am out as a candidate. No interest in leaving the U.S. I don't trust any government outside the U.S., nor their police or hospitals.
The machines are not only calibrated by weight. It rejects coins for being the wrong metal. Silver being one of them as well as aluminum, stainless steel, etc. Zinc cents are 2.5 grams and copper are 3.1 grams and those are not rejected because of weight. BUT 1943 steelies which are 2.8 grams ARE rejected. (Wrong metal.) The difference in weight between a silver dime and clad dime is less than the difference in weight between a zinc cent and a copper cent. But the silver dimes are rejected. (Wrong metal.)
Buffalos and especially Liberty head nickels would be more heavily worn and could conceivably be enough underweight to be rejected.
