Coin identification help

    Here's a piece that I was wondering about. It's silver, roughly the size of a us quarter and possibly upside down.

    Whatever it is, the bottom photo does appear to be upside down.

    I would say it's Morocco. But I think, it is not a coin but jetton or medal. I can't find such coin in my catalog.

    It's a commonly seen novelty piece modeled after the design of Ottoman Algeria coins. They are usually holed and presumed to have been used for ornamentation such as belly dancer costumes.

    The bottom face is upside down and reads " Sultan Mahmud". Supposedly Ottoman?
