    The kind made of metal.

    It looks medieval, maybe irish???

    Post it to the World Coins forum. I agree that it's medieval hammered England or Ireland, but would have to start in on the books to go further.

    Of course, I don't see a cross or a portrait, at least one of which I thought was on all those coins of that period.
