Looking for advice on the best coin holders to avoid the effects of poor plastic but still remain affordable for large collections.

    Tanks!

Just be very careful with the staples.

Be sure to use pliers to press the ends flat.

I have coins that have been in 2X2 holders for 50 plus years and they look the same as when I put them in. But, like you see above, flatten the staples.

A flat-cinch stapler, which uses regular staples and takes the worry out of it, is available at all office supply stores.

In my opinion, they don't exist yet, but good luck and welcome to CT.

I used similar to get my coins out of crappy mylar flips but then switched my unc. coins over to snatpite-type. Basic stuff: Washington quarters, WLH and Franklin halves, Morgans and Peace dollars.

I’ve had done of my coins in 2 x 2 holds for 40 plus years and no problems with any of them. If you’re not careful with the staples it’s your our fault. Anything you put your coins in will not work if you store them poorly.

I use SaFlips - mylar, no PVC, and one can easily view both sides of the coin. Just be careful to not slide the coin across the ends of the mylar when inserting or removing the coin, especially MS and PF coins. The coin could end up with some scratches on the surfaces.
