My choices are: Cent - Flying Eagle Nickel - Indian Head (Buffalo) Dime - Mercury Quarter - Standing Liberty Half - Walking Liberty Dollar - Peace That said, some of these designs would not be the same as the original if they were reinstated because of required mottoes mandated by Congress. The Flying Eagle Cent is about as simple a design as ever seen on a US coin. It does not contain the currently-required word 'LIBERTY' nor the mandated mottoes ' IN GOD WE TRUST' and 'E PLURIBUS UNUM'. This beautiful coin just would not look the same once these elements are added. My guess is the eagle would have to be shrunk down quite a bit to include these elements which would ruin the effect. Where would we squeeze in 'IN GOD WE TRUST' on the Buffalo nickel? It was packed in (in small type) under the Buffalo's head on the $50 American Buffalo gold bullion piece. This cluttered look ruins the effect IMO. My other choices include all the mandated design elements but some of the other posters' choices do not. Trying to reinstate old coin designs is a bit like building a classic car today. Can you imagine a Duesenberg with modern bumpers? Or a 1964 GTO with anti-smog equipment? A Model T Roadster just wouldn't be the same with a padded dash, seat belts and air bags.
