I went to our club's coin show a couple months ago. My new projects include Morgans and Washington Quarters, so I was on the prowl! I saw this one dealer and he had amazing quarter album so I conversed with him about them, as well as commemoratives since I already bought one. Overall, I was super happy with his quarter selection and friendly demeanor. He provided me with his business card and I went about my day after purchasing several quarters.

I jump to about a month later and I thought to myself, "Self, let's try working with this guy independently." I was really reserved about the process. I guess I didn't like the idea of someone knowing my collection, but we worked together through email and I happily purchased more quarters. He was nice and so patient. I was worried he would get the sense I was wasting his time he I said, "No, pass," to a coin but he kindly considered what I was looking for in my set. I gave him some thoughts on where my eyes train and overall it was a good learning experience for us both.

The next month I bought a Morgan from him, but still, his quarter set was quite nice. So, this month he learned more of what I was looking for in my set...no tone, strong breast feathers, clean fields, etc. He offered several to choose from so I bought this lot for a little under 275, which I didn't think was bad at all.

Overall, I have to say I am extremely impressed working one-on-one with a dealer. Saves me time scrolling ebay, I get my coins next day, and his photos are accurate. Overall, I am one pleased customer., and if you are ever so hesitant as I was, drop all fears and try working with a dealer you can like and trust. 20260614_210244.jpg 20260614_210250.jpg 20260614_210304.jpg 20260614_210315.jpg 20260614_210330.jpg 20260614_210338.jpg 20260614_210419.jpg 20260614_210425.jpg 20260614_210431.jpg 20260614_210436.jpg

As a dealer myself, I'm really glad to hear you had a good experience. You sound like a customer the dealer would remember in a good way, and he also appears to be honest; the $275 you paid for the lot is a pretty good deal considering all the 40's quarters are, in my opinion, at least MS-64 to 65.

As for a dealer knowing your collection, if you get the right one (which it looks like you have) it can be a dream of relief come true. Thankfully, a lot of dealers have a considerable number of connections established where they can find what you need at the right price.
