Hi forum, Today I come to each and every one of you sitting at home or at work at your computer screens with a very striking and interesting deal that I just made for a coin worth over $1000. I will not state the name of the coin nor will I state the amount I paid. It really doesn't matter to you, it's just the schematics and workings of this deal that I believe does. Okay, here goes. I saw coin (A) on ebay 3 days ago and bargained with the dealer to get it for a few hundred off its suggested price. I basically bought this coin at grey sheet bid. Then, I got my seller generated receipt via my gmail account and deposited xxx amount into his company bank account. FYI, I have this guy's phone number, his business address(which is confirmed by police to be a legitimate operating business) so let me just make that clear real quick. Okay, the money was sent. The seller and I had fast communication. 1:1- for every message I sent I'd get one back within 15 minutes usually. Then, after I sent the money. The message back and forth ratio became 6:1, 7:1 etc. Yikes! I thought I just got ripped! Why isn't the guy answering me like he used to? Messages from me like, "Did you receive my payment?" etc were all unanswered until I kept messaging him more he finally wrote back. Now I can call this dealer up any time and talk to him. At least that's the idea I have because he's not hard to reach(so far).. But, I just don't know forum. I'm a little worried. My mom gave a cashier's check for a high amount for a rolex watch once and was scammed. The guy that scammed her didn't have 1700+ positive feedback and an actual business, but still, she went around paypal and lost her money. I did kinda the same thing. I didn't go through paypal to avoid fees for the seller. Which as an ebay seller, I understand how that can be a concern. Now I also found out that he is having this item drop shipped to me through another dealer in Florida. I thought he actually owned the item at his store but I guess not. That's something we always have to ask, "Do you own the item currently?" So, forum, what do you think? I have lots of paperwork on this issue as well. I'm sure the optimists will say wait a week(since seller's e-mail to me does say this process can take 2-16 days) and the pessimists will say call the police or worry. To boot, I also bought an 11 dollar item THROUGH paypal from this guy just so I have something on record that I bought from him. I need a realistic opinion folks, nothing too fluffy or doom and gloomy, help a brother out. Thanks, BNB
