It simulates the look of that glossy, chocolate brown that copper can get with natural toning. And sometimes the TPGs will accept this and grade the coin. Other times they will not and designate the coin as having altered surfaces.</p><p><br /></p><p>So just for giggles Matt, take one of those coins, take a pic as it is, rinse it in xylene, and then take an after pic.
