The characters then sort through the coins but are&nbsp; unable to find a buffalo nickel with the buffalo on the plain. </p><p><br /></p><p>In fact, except&nbsp; for the first year that buffalo nickels were issued (1913), all such&nbsp; nickels had the buffalo on the plain. The nickels with the buffalo on&nbsp; the mound that the characters are apparently able to find with ease are&nbsp; actually the rarer of the two varieties issued in 1913. Despite this, a&nbsp; pair of such 1913 buffalo nickels (especially in 1965 when this episode&nbsp; was made) would not have been particularly valuable - or at least not&nbsp; nearly as valuable as suggested in this episode.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
