The postal service will not allow any use of assistance to walk, no crutches or canes. That was my first and only knee replacement but the other one needs to be done. That was not my first joint replacement by any means. I have 2 joints in my left foot and 3 in my right foot so when the right knee was done it took some adjustments. I am prone to scar tissue buildup with surgeries. They had to cut one of my muscles in half and fillet a second one off of the bone to do the work that needed to be done. So when they put me back together nothing worked on my right leg. It was like carrying 50 pounds of dead weight until my muscles started firing again. They did therapy for 5 months until I showed no signs of improvement. At that point my scar tissue had built up and stopped the movement I needed. Today, I can only lift my leg to about a 90 degree angle with the bend at the knee. It’s been just over 10 years and x-rays do no signs of wear. Usually you need the plastic disc replaced about 15 years later. I still have my original knee cap so that’s good. It is what it is and I can’t change that so I just deal with it the best so can. Somethings I can’t do anymore, other things, I just do differently. Riding a bike is an I can’t.
