That was fun. Looks like FFIVN counted some SBAs as halves. Otherwise he woulda been pretty dang close.
I guess I need to teach him to ID better ;)
Thanks for the fun game @Randy Abercrombie

I won this amazing contest, then the jackass in me took over...
I'm from the north east, have a little bit of an attitude, but am kind hearted, have a decent soul (i think). I was so shocked when i won this contest that i had honestly forgotten what the details were. I knew there was a gorgeous pile of coins, and a grand prize that i was drooling over, but second prize? What was that... oh right, Susan Bs. Hmmm, i think I'm about 50, if i recall correctly, so i grew up with SBAs, got a stack of em on the side i give a few to my nieces and nephews when i see them.
    (Then the jackass takes over)
I wonder if @Randy Abercrombie would be down with swapping something of equal or greater value, something that i really don't have, and I'll send him cash up front, and maybe it'll be (cooler) different. And i did, the unappreciative jerk that i am, i asked him, and he couldn't have been more gracious. He asked me what i was into, what really got me going, that's when i became embarrassed, realizing i had just hijacked this kind person's contest. I was so embarrassed, i had discontinued contact with him. He had to contact me to ask for my address. I apologize again, publicly. After opening your package today, I'm mortified by my behavior, in the presence of your generosity. Thank you.

I have very strict rules about having outside coins in with my grandfather's stuff. I have coins from my work stuff that could fill some of the spots in his folios, but i don't mix them.

It is my honor, to have your coins, join my grandfather's. Yours is on the right. It's gorgeous.

And this gorgeous 1963, which had an open space. Not any more.

Amazing site, amazing people, amazing contest. I'm humbled by your generosity.

**side note** please don't judge my (grandfather's) folios too harshly. Technically, he didn't put them together, my mother did, and clearly, the passion just wasn't there. I have to put them in proper order, when i have a few moments.
    Thanks again.

In continuation of this thread and amazing generosity of @Randy Abercrombie I'd like to thank him for the amazing 1883 AU-55 Shield Nickel I received today. Not only true to his word on the beauty of this coin but prompt like he said. In PM he said it would go out Monday, and here it is on Thursday.

Randy, I'll be reaching out to you in PM to discuss an anomaly I think I noticed.

BTW, the packaging the coin was encased in was like fort knox. Again, attention to detail.

    Thank you so very much.

    @Randy Abercrombie
I'm not able to send pix via PM, so here's a few of the 'spoils' I received today.

I must say, this coin is even nicer in hand than it shows in the pix.

If you look closely on the obverse, at the 9:30 to 10 o'clock position, starting at the 2nd 'leaf cluster' from the bottom, can you see what appears to me as a die crack?

I am not an error/variety guy. Post these in the US section and see what they say. I do know the mint had issues with dies holding up with this series. The new nickel composition gave the mint some headaches during this learning curve.

I've put the "closed" sign up, but I'll leave the thread unlocked a while so your winners can have the chance to post their goodies once they've gotten 'em.
