You got a fairly easy one. I got a GA quarter once upon a time with a much more cryptic message on it.

How did I miss this when it first posted?
I'd love to have some counter stamped quarters.
Thanks once again to Lord M for managing this contest and Quartermaster for providing the coins. I think Lord M got the hardest part. LOL

Bump, to move the active contests to the top, and send some of the now-locked older ones down the list.

Thank you again @lordmarcovan for hosting a QM party!

We all appreciate both QM's and your (Hosting and time) generosity!

I wonder how QM get's people's addresses, Super Sleuth for sure. Lol

Edit: Nothing of note found in circulation of late. A lil bit ago I did find a 90% silver quarter in a Coinstar reject slot with a bunch of foreign and smaller US coins

I've got another counterstamped quarter inbound, but this one is not by the QuarterMaster.

I'm pretty excited about it. Should be here early next week.

    My photos when it arrives.

Thank you @lordmarcovan and QuarterMaster, again, for your generosity. Should i win, I'd request you set mine free in another part of the country, such as Georgia, for some local, curious minds to ponder.
I'm excited to see how quickly i see the ones i set free come back around my way. If things keep up the way they are, I'm going to guess I'll see one again in about 6 months time. That's my over/under :bucktooth:.
    Thanks again!

Entry Post. Thank you Quarter Master and LordMarcovan for the contest. I read another post that was about the counter stamped coins by Quarter Master. I have to say I was not very good at figuring out what each meant. Definitely would require some research on my part. Very cool that Quarter Master creates these coins puzzles for those lucky enough to find their way on his mailing list. Good luck to everyone.

@ZoidMeister - would you happen to know who one could speak to about having custom counterstamp dies like that engraved? If it’s not too much more expensive than the die prep I’ve had done for my elongated coins, I might give that a try in lieu of elongates at some future date.

But what about the stamping procedure? I would imagine these more detailed counterstamps (as one with my Robertson badge logo would be) are probably done on industrial mechanized presses, and aren’t the sort of thing one whacks onto the coins himself with a hammer, right?

I have shown this picture before, but it is the only counterstamped coin I have. It says US and and there is half an anchor.

WW2 era US Navy counterstamp, I’m guessing? The anchor’s only half there because of the strike on the c/s being uneven, perhaps because the other fluke of the anchor landed in a lower portion of the field outside the portrait, by George’s throat.

Very cool piece. Some bored swabbie probably was tinkering in a machine shop, perhaps when he wasn’t busy dodging U-boats or kamikaze planes.
