Happy belated Birthday mine is the 29 th of December.
I’m kinda new to coin collecting but I love the opportunity to learn about coins. I mostly focus on us silver coinage, but dabble a little into us keydates and error coins.
I would pick the silver eagle coin though they are all beautiful.

The oldest coin I own would be the flying eagle cent 1857.
    Thank you

    Coin choice: Silver Kangaroo.
Oldest coin: 1865 Indian Head cent.
Coin related: Several years ago, my wife's family was wrapping all of her grandfather's half-dollars that he had been saving for many years. They put the 1964 Kennedy's aside and were going to take the rest of the many, many rolls to the bank to cash them in. I asked them to let me look at them first before taking them to the bank. Good thing I did, as there were over 100 of the 1965-1969 dated ones mixed with the rest of them.

Entry post - Somalia 100 shillings.

Fun thing: I've started a collection of coins from self-declared, unrecognized states. Got a 1 Franc coin from Katanga (seceded from Dem. Rep. Congo in 1960) on the way. Other ones on the list: Somaliland, Biafra, Abkhazia, Nagorno-Karabakh, Transnistria, Taiwan.

Oldest coin: 1838 French 5 Franc piece. Silver but high mintage so not super-valuable. Gift from my grandfather.

I think the Britannia is one of the most beautiful designs ever.

My oldest coin is a 1857 flying eagle penny. Or an 1857 seated half (junk condition on the half). No pics due to recently moving.

Thanks, as always, to lordM and Noah for putting this one together.

My oldest dated coin is this one:
    1512.jpg
    Johann III (1511-1521)
    Schilling - Jülich-Berg, 1512

    OBV: St. Hubertus over Arms
    IOHS·DVX·IVLIC·Z·MON'

REV: floral cross with 4 Arms
    +MONETA·NOVA·RENEN·1512

This coin was minted in the German state of Jülich-Berg in 1512. My 13th-Great-Grandfather was born in 1515 in Kaldenkirchen, a tiny village in Jülich-Berg. I bought it hoping that he held it once, or maybe his son did. Very outside shot that happened, but I don't care. Whether they did or not, it is a small piece of history from the area that my ancestors once lived.

    ENTRY POST. ELEPHANT.
Roll hunted for first time yesterday. Needed 8 different Kennedy dates and found 5 out of 6 rolls. 3 of them in one roll. No silver and many of them were pretty beat up. Did find 1 gem 2005 that I will put in a 2x2. Oldest coin. 1899 barber dime.

Entry post. My oldest coin to date is from 1795. I really like the elephant design on the Somali Elephant coin. Also to keep it coin related. This is one of my circam 1917 type 1 Standing Liberty quarters. 20181021_135032.jpg 20181021_135041.jpg
    Thanks again for the opportunity!

Winners- please send me your shipping addresses via private message. I will also beg your patience and forbearance, as the shipping of the prizes may be a bit slow. I'm still on hiatus and likely to remain scarce for a little while longer.

The launching of the February giveaway will also be a bit behind schedule, but there will be one, with at least four prize drawings. @dwhiz, @CoinBlazer, and @spirityoda have all offered prizes. I do not know yet what my contribution will be. Stay tuned for all that.

I switch 'em up occasionally. Always end up going back to the default "Holey Hat" avatar eventually. I just take a break from it once in a while.

    Love your wintry trees, BTW.
