So we're in the right part of Canada, at least.

And it is a coin, not a token, to answer one earlier question which was asked out of turn.

This guessing game format is more difficult to run as a contest. As host, I don't want it to be too easy and thus over too quickly, but on the other hand, one doesn't want it to be too difficult, either, and have everyone give up and lose interest.

Plus I have to be present. The random drawing ones are easier for everyone, but I do like that these do require a little thinking on the players' part. So maybe we'll keep doing a few like this now and then.

Taking a shot in the dark here, but if I had to guess the denomination of the coin in question, I would guess 50 cents. I regularly encounter Newfoundland 50 cents pieces despite their low mintages at the shows I attend. As for the date, I'm going to guess sometime in the 1890s, 1899 to be precise.

It is a 50 cent piece. You are very, very close. Did you just solve the riddle for the next two guessers, or will you have a chance to make another guess?

Time will tell. This one will be solved soon!

If nobody else has it in the next two tries, you get another shot!
