I am developing an interest in world coins, especially Canadian . So here is a Canadian wolf silver and another interesting world coin (not silver).

    Entry Post.

God bless Mothers. Mine fortunately is still kicking cow pies around her Texas ranch at 92 years old. I thought of putting together a 1930 u.s. birth year set, including gold, but that thought quickly disappeared.

    Here's a 1944...

Tonga! I knew Dudley Moore Blakely, the man who designed and engraved their very first coins, in 1962. He showed me a gold proof set of the first strikes… Tonga’s very first coins!

Good thing Mom wasn't listening to my language tonight, upon my discovery that the new computer on my desk at work has Windows 11 on it… :rage::muted::banghead:

@mrweaseluv - that 1965 dime is sharp! From the color of the reverse, it almost looks like one of those off-metal errors that got struck on the old silver blanks instead of clad, though I spot a flash of copper at 12:00, so I guess it’s a clad after all. SMS?

Mothers. Some are great, some ain't, but like your mom, mine was great and I miss her dearly. Born in 1922, she lived through WW II as my dad went off to fight in the Pacific, birthing and caring for my sister and myself until he returned. I lost her in this month back in 2004 and still think, "I'll ask mom about that," every so often.

If I were to win, I wish my prize to go to @justyn p because as a Brit he may enjoy them more than I.

You’re welcome. And good idea about @justyn p - he’s been good to me and I’d be happy if he won, so let’s make this post of mine here an extra bonus entry to toss his ticket in the hat one more time.

    Entry post.

sorry to hear of your recent loss. I just lost my grandfather on Jan 14 while recovering from covid.

He was also born in 1944, by chance. I do have a 1944 coin, and it’s a bright red cent.

Mayflower on reverse. Some consider this one of the most beautiful Canadian Colonial Tokens. Mine looks better than this doctored up old image. But Mothers Day is in May and mothers do get flowers.

and Thank you for the contest-giveaway!

I really really want one of those (or the similar pennies) in UNC, preferably RB or RD. LMK if anybody knows the whereabouts of one.
