    Late to this thread, but wanted to add my two cents. The '65 Churchill crown is one of those "love it or hate it" coins. I happen to think it's the most artistically rendered likeness in modern coinage, but I understand why some would disagree with that assessment.

    As for Churchill himself, I heartily recommend "Franklin and Winston" by Jon Meacham. A fascinating look at the relationship between two of the most preeminent public figures of the 20th century.
