    Nuthin but the best . . . .

A gentleman from the other site sent me half a dozen in various states of disassembly. The whole examples are very scary. Biggest giveaways are the weight (only a gram off), the "ring" (not discernable unless comparing with a good $), and the reeding. That is the most noticeable. It looks like it was applied and not struck in a collar.

I'm sure those who are very familiar with VAM's could tell right away unless they got all caught up in "new VAM discovery" excitement.

I'll try to get pictures of the group. All different dates and mints across both Morgan and Peace Dollars.

This is too easy of a contest to pass up. Nice prize selection. Hard to pick. I guess I wouldn't mind having that shiny 1939 RD Lincoln cent. Thanks!

Thank you, Lord Rob, for all the hard work you do, and your generosity.
I like the Peru Dinero, however, so many others would like it, I think I'll leave it for them and take the Morgan if I should win.
Here is a photo I recently found of my 1st Wolfhound "Wolf". Long gone now. He was super friendly, however, people seeing him for the first time were afraid. He stood 39 1/2" at the shoulders and was a little over 200 lbs.

Wolf and I were camping overnight on the prairies of Wyoming.
When he would come up facing me, I would lean over, laying over the top of his head, and wrap my arms around his neck. He was big enough that he would lift his head picking me off the ground and walk with me draped over his head and neck from the front.

My favorite is the Judaea: ca. 103-76 BC bronze prutah of Alexander Jannaeus.
I still need a ancient coin for my collection.
    Thanks @lordmarcovan!

The Judaean Prutah looks tempting, but slabbed Spanish silver has been on my bucket list for a while too... If I win I will choose then.

A recent coin pickup for a good price:

I'm not sure whether I like the Judaea Prutah, or the Seated Quarter better. I'll decide which if I happen to win. Thanks LordM!

Welcome to March, everyone. It's time we had our drawing.

This time our lucky number was 9.

    upload_2024-3-1_18-2-0.png

Post #9 was by @SensibleSal66, who seems to have had an incredible sweep of luck with the random number generator in these last few contests. But this time his winning entry was on behalf of @Noah Worke. So coingratulations to @Noah Worke and a tip o' the hat to the generous @SensibleSal66!

@Noah Worke - I shall of course need your shipping address. If the Civil War token is still what you want, it is yours, though alternately, you may have another look at the prize gallery and are welcome to change your mind. Just let me know what your final prize selection is.

I will of course ask that you post to this thread later, after you have received the prize, so we'll know you got it.
