They seem to have held on to some value as well.

That's a really handsome example, @don oswald. What's the grade?

Sheldon-166, I assume, due to the distinctive reverse die crack.

Here's a nice S-166 dug by my local detecting buddy. A number of them have turned up around here on old plantation sites.

In a condition such as mine, I wouldn't pay over $30 for one

I have finally gotten my hubby trained. When he comes in at night, he puts his change in a wooden bowl. I collect it, check it, and put it in rolls for him. Good system. He was also learned to let me check his paper money. Joint effort is nice.

received my prize yesterday! Thanks again @Paddy54 and Lord M!
@cpm9ball I grew up in New Jersey and had to do a school project on the Tercentenary. Brings back memories.

@greed ball - why did you post two lists of prize preferences? You only get one entry post, and the prize picks need to be in that post.

PS- the '54-S cent is pretty.

Nah, you can fix it. Just edit.

The multiple coin posts are fine. Just take one of those series of prize selections and put it in your entry post, then delete the other set of numbers and the duplicate "entry post" wording in your subsequent post.

(You can leave the coin pictures and commentary- that's all fine.)
