Here is a oak floor in herringbone pattern I just installed. Needs to be sanded and stained. 7725FD8D-B839-4CCC-B5E7-304BF3111D39.jpeg

Haha, it’s not my house. It’s from the late 1800’s, and it’s in Newport, RI.

From the liquid-like pooling/swirling pattern seen around the D in GOD and the 9 in the date (and elsewhere), I'm inclined to say AT due to some kind of surface residues, but I don't know. That being said, the colors are kind of pretty, and the balanced pastel appearance of the reverse is nice. Wouldn't pass muster at a TPG for a straight grade if submitted for slabbing, I don't think, but as it is, raw, it's kind of nice. Would be a fun album coin, perhaps.

    Mini-announcement:

We have some fun stuff on deck for the May giveaway. So far I have @spirityoda aboard for that again, and he's put up two nice prizes (a new release UK commemorative coin in Royal Mint packaging, and another very cool modern British commem in an NGC slab). I have two silver coins: one US coin from the Carson City (!) mint and one late-medieval/early-dated European coin that will be up for grabs, and I might add yet a third prize to my own donations for May.

So far between @sprityoda and I alone, however, there are four very fun prizes for the May giveaway, so stay tuned for that soon!

If anyone wants in as a donor for the May giveway (and I'm not soliciting that at all, but just speaking to anyone who was already considering it), then shoot me a PM with a picture and description of the prize(s) you want to donate by the end of this weekend, please. If it's OK with you, I'll then ask you to hold on to those donations until the end of May and then ship them directly to the winner(s) after that drawing, instead of to me.

Thanks for checking it out ...toning on coins is my new favorite thing I think, just got these 2 from my grandfather that I love (not sure why they are crooked but didn't want to take them out to straighten them lol)

You could pop 'em out and reposition them, but wear gloves so as to not leave fingerprints on them, is all.

Or you could just put a piece of paper between the coin and your finger when you push them in or out. Same difference. Just avoiding skin oils and fingerprints is the idea.
