Just cleaned my desk out last week and it's already a mess again



Anyways, I'd estimate to have approximately 18,325 coins in my collection, including jars of wheat and copper cents, numismatic silver (and barely any gold), but mostly those weird Mexican coins that my grandparents heavily hoarded in the 1960's through the 1990's.

Just did all the math.
It checks out at 818,195 crushing the goal of 2,500.

That's just a couple thousand ahead of the 1879 CC morgan dollar.
And almost twice as much as the 1909 S VDB.

Now imagine if 4/5th's of @Amos 811 's hoard of cents were all 1909 S VDB's. That's how many were made.

After 20 years of collecting mostly world coins my total is 985 coins, 1 medal, Dansco albums for Mercury dimes, Sac dollars, Statehood quarters, America The Beautiful quarters...

I estimate I have about 15,000 coins in my collection, the vast majority of them world coins. That number has actually gone down in the past year or two as I have thinned my collection out a bit. I think I eliminated about four or five albums total. Here's a picture of my highly complex storage method: albums full of coins in 2x2s in a closet. I need them to be somewhere where my toddler can't get at them. I'll tag @jlblonde though he'll never reply.

 

I have about 6 folders like this. A bunch of loose coins too. probably 20 slabbed coins. 15,000 that's impressive. I had no idea your collection was that huge. Awesome.

 

How much do you pay your maid to keep it so neat and tidy?

Will that table-top tripod allow you to take photos from directly overhead?

Everyone wants to know!

I probably have around 40 coins in my actual collection maybe 150 in inventory and probably another 300 in better than junk silver and other low end stuff a few of my own

I did a very rough count and at my coin desk, I have close to 10,000 coins, medals, and tokens. If you add the ~200 ancients, the safe full of PMs, and the random piles of world coins sitting around my house, the total is probably between 15,000-20,000. Can anyone say “hoarder”?...

Here is a picture of my coin table in the dungeon...errr...basement, where I have been relegated to since apparently children “need” bedrooms. Ugh.

Alas I packed my safe deposit box 14x14x25 with 50 pounds of silver,4 pounds of gold and a little platinum. Left Syracuse this morning for Florida. And so many nickels and dimes errors to count. Tonight in Virginia so can’t show the hoard. I’ll be delivering about 500 foreign coins to my 14 yo great-nephew in NC tomorrow.

Let me just ask a question...... are y’all counting “every coin” that you have set aside or just What you have “enter” into you collection???

I think I have the smallest so far
Need to step my game up!!

 

I didn't count the quarters for the washer & dryer or the pocket change containers for pennies, nickels & dimes.

Well I'm trying. I'm at 3,352. That includes 275 slabbed coins.
Sorry, I don't have the time or inclination to count the jars and rolls of common world coins, wheaties, presidential dollar rolls, and what not - mostly the stuff not worth much over face, yeah I'm a magpie.
