    I have a pretty cool book by Q. David Bowers titled Buffalo Coins: America's Favorite. The American Bison on Coins, Tokens, Medals and Paper Money. I'm giving it away to the first person that can tell me what the animal depicted was modeled after.

    The Bison on the reverse of the nickel, was modelled after Black diamond from the Bronx Zoo.
