Clearer pictures would help, but I strongly doubt that is a genuine clip. There are several indicators which point to a cut coin (artificially made coin to look like an error). The largest and most screamingly obvious sign this isn't genuine is the complete and total lack of Blakesley effect.
I asked the seller for a larger better picture. Might have to ask for a side edge shot. Worst case could use it as a new sacrificial scratch off ticket tool.
Seller sent another picture. Small, blurry, Dark. and the kicker..... Wait for it..... Wait for it...... Not even the Indian head that I asked him about. Not wort the effort to spend any more time on these On to the next GEMS. Thanks all.
I agree with @physics-fan3.14. Even though it's a poor picture, it looks like PMD. The rims look strong, right up to the missing area. Compare that to real clips (incomplete planchets). Also, the lack of Blakesley effect makes me suspicious (although some true clips may not show it)
I'll have to agree, not a planchet clip. I got fooled this way myself with a Sacagawea Dollar shipped from Puerto Rico addressed Ebayer A few years back. Look for that Blakesley's effect especially from Ebay just to be safe.
A clip error would not have a rough edge, which yours appears to have. The pic's are to blurry to tell. Good luck
