Cleaning half dollars

    Heck, half a shot glass? I need three or four shots of bourbon............wait a second. You was talkin' acetone........never mind. :)

    I was thinking the same thing. Will shoot some of each.

    Update: I tried acetone and found it evaporated fasted than it cut the crud from the coins. So I aborted and will throw the dirty birds in the sack to go to the dump site tomorrow. Thanks for all the input. Ron

    Dumb question, but you did *soak* it in the acetone, right? In a covered /sealed container?

    Soak, yes, covered and sealed, no. Probably soaked for 20 minutes or so. Barely cut the crud.

    FWIW, I soaked for 24 hours.
