Cleaning Coins With Air!!

    I agree. Its to bad we can't find some of these ancients with the metal detectors.

    I experimented with cleaning coins with an air compressor and spray booth chamber at high pressure. I used walnot shell dust and also tiny particles of plastic, thinking both would be softer than the coin and would cause no damage......wrong!

    You have got to be kidding me. lol

    That's just way too much pressure, I think. But you never know what will work and what won't. Although, I thought about this for awhile and you definitely need a low powered unit that blows air.

    It's not the air pressure that's the problem. It's the medium you fire at it. High pressure is good to blow away debris when you are picking away to keep the coin free of loose dirt.

    I am low tech. I just use a blusher brush between picks.

    That's funny. Haha. Actually, this blower is very easy to use. Knowing when to use it and when not to is the tricky part.
